Zero vs. Kruga

(Orange boxes are crates, numbers over crates determine how many squares tall the stack of crates are. The warehouse is 10 squares (50 feet) tall.)

As the game boots up, the players are brought to a screen showcasing numerous, popular characters! There's the moody eladrin swordmage, the talented gnome bard, the goofy but adorable harpy paladin, and the game's resident "joke character", the human monk. The characters are quickly selected...

The arena appears, seeming to be built from the ground up from bits of data. It takes the shape of a warehouse, orange crates strewn about, creating a very shoddy maze. Seriously, it was like a six year old made it...

Other players are able to watch from across the internet, sitting in to watch the two players duel.

"Greetings, everyone, and welcome to another exciting match up in the world of Super Hyper Street King of Guilty Fighters X+Alpha! I'm your spectator for this match up, Kumek!", said a short, white, fuzzy creature that materializes on screen, sporting a ready dingly bop on it's head, it's eyes squinted shut. "Are you all ready, kupo!? With us today is my co-host, Perry!" At that moment, a fat blue penguin-like creature appears, seeming to have a fanny pack sewn to it's stomach. "You got that right, dood! And what a match up today! I hear we actually have a couple military guys participating today!" "Right you are, kupo! And speaking of which, here comes the first one!"

"In the blue circle, we have the short man who's big on charisma, the talented pilot, ZERO SPACEJUNK!" The crowd cheers as the short man materializes in the arena!

Zero's pixels rain down like tetris pieces onto the grid, where they assemble into his recognizable form, if not into his recognizable clothes. "Neon clothing. Not what a rogue would normally pick, but it seems to fit the motif here okay. I just might blend into the background!" he decides looking down at his form-fitting (and form-flattering) TRON outfit. He examines his bracelets. They have been changed from a pair of homemade hunks of hodgepodge junk and welding to neat, smooth organic pieces that would not look out of place at an Apple store.

It was then his opponent would appear in front of him, as if phasing into existence through sheer will. Before him stood a dog-like humanoid decked out in an outfit similar to Zero's, only red. He held a red beam saber in his hand. "And in the red corner, the dog warrior from planet Anubis, the Guard Dog of Hell, Kruga!", shouted Perry. Kruga nodded to Zero, acknowledging him. "Let this be a good battle, my short friend."

Roll initiative!

Rolling for Kruga, +4

The member 'The General' has done the following action : Dices roll

Yeah, uh, roll for Initiative anyway, in case you get a 1 too. XD

Zero looks quizzical for a second, but finally smiles. "Well, damn it! I just had to fight a nice guy, didn't I? No fair! A rogue can't fight a nice person without automatically being the villain!"

His tone of voice is playful and jovial enough to show he's only teasing, but still he bows in greeting.

+7 initiative.

Yeah, it's painfully obvious you get to go first.

Zero bolts for a nearby stack of crates and tries to topple them over so as to create a barrier between him and Kruga!

Move to I-13

Attempt to topple 3 crate high stack so that it lands on the passageway between him and Kruga

+5 Athletics. I hope the crates are empty! Or filled with cats.

Success! There are now one crate in spaces J13, J14, and J15.

"WOW! Despite his small stature, Zero clearly makes up for it in strength and cunning! This is already starting out interesting, kupo!", Kumek states.

That was a standard action to topple the crates. Continue.

The halfing beams at his success. He'll need to keep one step ahead of the swordfighter to succeed!

Kruga thinks, then moves to K14, and in the same action, attempts to jump over the crate in J14

Kruga doesn't quite make it over, but at least manages to get on top of the crate.
"Oof! Not quite enough spring to jump over that crate, dood! Hope Kruga's swordsmanship is better than his crate leaping abilities.", Perry states.

Kruga ends his turn.

ooc Just so I understand. You can make a move action with a skill check to clear an obstacle, but if you do that, it counts as a standard action? For example...

Zero is tempted to try and strike at Kruga, but finds it wiser to keep his distance and attack from cover. He neatly steps back to avoid a surprise blow, and sprints for the crates, trying to jump over them!

Shift to H-13

Move to H-10, with an acrobatic roll to clear the crate.

+12 acrobatics!

Actually, I considered it part of my move action since it was a smaller jump and I didn't move my full speed when i approached the crate.

I'd do the same in your case, but unlike me, you manage to make it OVER the crate, and land in H10. As I said, the acrobatics check counted as part of your move action since you only moved a couple squares. However, shifting prior to your move was another move action, so unlss you spend an action point, you're left with a minor action.

Continue. (And I'm really sorry if that was confusing...)

Actually I've been a tad busy. I truly apologize... ^^;

I assumed as much. I haven't exactly been an example of punctuality myself in the minquests.

Now that the epic fail I committed is over (accidentally ONLY saved the image as a JPEG, so had to remake the whole map...)..., Kruga finally continues his turn! (After this post, just want to get the map up. XD)

Kruga narrows his eyes as he hops off the crate and moves to H12, attempting to climb onto H11,the crate beside Zero.
