Earth's History Empty

Earth.
2010.

The Earth of Vector Terra was very similar to our own Earth. However, one fateful day, a gigantic beast, hell bent on destroying the planet, arrived. It tore up the land, laying waste to everything. The humans were on the defensive, their weapons seeming to have little effect on the beast. It wasn't until the elves had arrived to aid them, armed with primal and arcane magic, as well as beast-like like machines, did the tide of battle turn. The combined effort of the humans' weapons, the elves' magic, and their faithful machines, the Organoids, were they able to bring the beast to it's knees. But in a last ditch attempt, it let out a loud shriek, which traveled around the globe. It was this final attack did mankind take a severe blow: the loss of all modern technology.

Cell phone batteries ran out almost instantly, computers fried, toasters no longer toasted... and with no machines to drill for oil, eventually, even automobiles were rendered almost useless. The humans were sent back to a time before advanced technology. They were at a loss, unsure of what they would do, for none of them had the skills required to live as they did ages ago, having grown somewhat lazy due to their tech.

But the elves did.

The elves, taking pity on the humans, would aid them, teaching them the old ways such as black smithing, farming, and mining, making them more common in the world. The elves had stayed hidden from humans throughout history, so it was understandable that some were skeptical to ally themselves and be so open with the humans. But regardless, they aided them, helping them to rebuild their lives and get back on their feet.

This lasted for twenty years.

It was at this time that the Celestians, a highly advanced race of beings from space, arrived on Earth. They were disgusted with the lack of technology, having thought they heard Earth at least made SOME advancements. Once the situation was explained, they seemed intrigued at how well they managed to adapt to their situation with the elves aiding them (though they ignored the fact the elves helped them, for they feel they are vastly inferior) and decided to experiment a bit. They offered mankind their own technology, curious as to see what they could do with it.

And so, the humans set to work, amazing at what they could accomplish. Civilization could return to it's former glory, or even better! But many humans had grown accustomed to their current life style, even liking it. But the others wanted to expand their horizons, and thus worked to move beyond the stars, with a few pointers from the Celestians. It was then that mankind had begun living in space, having constructed space colonies, able to simulate Earth's weather conditions and emulate sunrise and sunset almost perfectly, a thing of awe.

This went on for eighty years. During this time, the humans had come into contact with other races, both friendly and hostile. The humans made many new allies at this time, including many of the citizens of Animatros, the people of Terran, the shardminds of Gran, and the goliaths of Gigantos, just to name a few. The only races they seem hesitant to associate with consist of the tieflings of planet Chaos, but they welcome any and all species as long as they come in peace. Mankind had paved the way for other races, working to build a utopia with their "neighbors".

But there are those who wish to disrupt this utopia... those who wish to finish what they started decades ago...

Halflings are actually from Terran, and live in the forests around the daervans/dwarves' mountains. They are on very good terms with them. The planet the races inhabit is listed under the race descriptions. ^^
